With what many have categorised as an unexpected release, multiple award-winning rapper and music mogul, Olamide also known as Baddo has set a new record for all Nigerian projects released in 2024 on the digital streaming platform, Spotify.

"Ikigai / 生き甲斐, Vol. 1" presents seven captivating tracks, each offering a distinct sonic experience. Olamide demonstrates his versatility by skillfully merging elements of Afrobeats, rap, and soulful melodies, creating an extraordinary listening journey.

Named after the Japanese concept of "a reason for living," the EP's title suggests a possible multi-volume series, leaving us eager to see its future direction.

Fans received the project's release with open arms as Olamide's Ikigai became the 2024 Nigerian project with the highest number of streams in the first 24 hours of its release on Spotify.

Ikigai gathered over 1.8 million streams on Spotify alone making it the most-streamed Nigerian project released in 2024 in the first full day of tracking. The album also amassed 3 Million streams on Audiomack and 1.1 million streams on Boomplay Music on its first day of release.
