Olamide becomes the only African rapper to achieve this on the UK charts

Olamide has set a new record for African rappers on the UK albums chart with the release of his 10th studio album, Unruly.

Multiple award-winning rapper and performer Olamide Adedeji, who is popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has set a new record for African rappers as he became the first and only rapper from Africa to record a high peak position on the UK Top Albums chart with his latest project titled Unruly.

The rapper became the first and only African rapper to peak at number four on the Apple Music Top Albums chart for the United Kingdom (UK) as his newly released project Unruly peaked at number four on the chart.
This is one of the many records the music mogul managed to set with this project, as it also became the first album from an African rapper to peak in the top 10 of the Apple Music Top Albums chart for the US.
The rapper celebrated the release of this album in style as he organised a listening party on Thursday, August 9, 2023, for fans and friends. It was a star-studded affair, as some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry were present to mark the occasion.

The Unruly album is a project different from what many had expected from the rapper, and he also hinted that this would not be like his regular projects as well.

It was widely received, as it became the highest-selling rap album in Nigeria on the digital streaming platform. Spotify recorded over 1 million streams in the first 24 hours of its release.
