New twist unfolds in ASAP Rocky’s legal battle

Just a week after ASAP Rocky was found not guilty in his felony assault trial, the rapper is facing a civil lawsuit from his accuser, ASAP Relli.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, had been accused of a 2021 attack on his former friend in Hollywood. If convicted, he could have faced over two decades in prison. However, a jury recently cleared him of all charges.
Despite this legal victory, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge William Fahey has now lifted a hold on Relli’s assault and battery lawsuit, setting a trial date for January 12, 2026, according to Rolling Stone.
Relli’s attorney, Melisa Mikhail, confirmed her client has no intention of dropping the case. Appearing virtually at a court hearing, she stated, “We intend to continue litigating this case. The standard in a criminal case is much higher than the preponderance of the evidence standard in a civil matter. We still believe that our claims have merit, and we intend on fully litigating them.”
ASAP Rocky, who shares two children with global superstar Rihanna, now faces a civil lawsuit, despite his recent courtroom victory.
