N50 million reward announced for information on Mohbad's death
In a powerful call for justice, Larry Omodia, CEO of African Television and the African Foundation for Justice, has announced a N50 million reward for anyone who provides valuable information leading to the arrest of the assassins of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Omodia, speaking at the Ikorodu Magistrate Court on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, after a coroner's inquest into Mohbad's death, urged people worldwide to support the African Foundation in its efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
"African Television and African Foundation for Justice are here to announce our support for the Nigerian police. We have N50 million cash for anybody with useful information that leads to the conviction of Mohbad’s killers. We are sure somebody somewhere knows something. We don’t want this case to turn into a mysterious case that will never be solved,” Omodia stated.
In addition to the cash reward, Omodia promised that witnesses would be sent abroad for their safety. This announcement follows report that the autopsy performed on Mohbad failed to determine the cause of death due to the body's advanced state of decay. Wahab Shittu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, confirmed this to the press during the coroner's inquest in Lagos State.
The African Foundation for Justice and African Television's reward underscores their commitment to ensuring justice for Mohbad and preventing his case from becoming another unsolved mystery.
