Mr P's management fires back at Darkoo's sabotage claims

The management team of Nigerian singer Mr P, one half of the defunct P-Square duo, has responded to allegations made by fast-rising singer Darkoo.

Darkoo had claimed that Mr P attempted to sabotage her new single Focus On Me, which samples P-Square's hit song Gimme Dat.

In a lengthy letter, Mr P's management explained that Darkoo had sought permission to use the sample from an unapproved party, which led to the project's failure. The management team stated that Mr P had ensured that all parties involved in the dissolved P-Square group were carried along, rather than just one.

The letter also revealed that when Darkoo encountered difficulties on YouTube, she and her team turned to Mr P and his staff for assistance. The issues were subsequently resolved, and the management team questioned Darkoo's motives for making the sabotage claims.

The management team denied that Mr P had sought a 50% split of the income from the song, stating that it was the individual Darkoo initially approached who had made the request. The team described Darkoo's outburst as "malicious" and a "purposeful attempt to paint" Mr P in a negative light.
