"Keep Quiet!" - Mr. P of P-Square Slams Seun Kuti Over 'Peter Obi' Comment
The one duo of P-Square who is a staunch supporter of Peter Obi went for the Afrobeat singer of politics.
Nigerian ace singer and performer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as "Mr. P," has slammed his colleague Seun Kuti over his recent comment on Peter Obi.
Mr. P, who is part of the iconic duo P-Square and has publicly backed Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, didn't mince words when it came to Afrobeat singer, performer, teacher, and social commentator Seun Kuti. In a recent interview, Seun Kuti spoke against Peter Obi's presidential aspiration, calling him an "opportunist." He said:
He hasn’t had the time because he started too late. You can’t be telling me that just because you lost PDP primaries 18 months before the election, you suddenly started a movement, and you have a plan for the country.
No, that’s opportunism. And it’s not an opportunist that will deliver Nigeria—not jumping on Labour Party. The Labour Party has a socialist structure. Peter Obi is a capitalist. Where are they going?
Reacting to the interview on popular blogger Tunde Ednut's page, the angry Mr. P slammed the son of late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, telling him to keep quiet. Stating that he is disappointed in the father of one, Mr. P went on to claim that Seun Kuti had erased his father's history. He wrote:
Dude just keep quiet! So so disappointed!
Dude just erased his fathers History! You said only the people of Nigeria can save Nigeria! Is PO and the rest candidates not the Nigerian people?.... SHAME! SHAME!! SHAME!!!
