With the end of the end-of-the-year charts being released by digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, and Apple Music and entertainment establishments such as Billboard, it is safe to say the numbers in terms of streams as well as ranking have earned Rema the spot as the most streamed African artist of the year 2023.

How many streams did Rema have on Spotify in 2023?

Rema amassed over 1 billion streams alone in 2023 on the digital streaming platform Spotify it is no surprise as his hit collaboration with Selena Gomez (Calm Down remix) was ranked number eight on the most streamed songs globally for 2023 on Spotify.

The data also confirmed that Rema had over 140 million listeners in over 160 countries in the year 2023 alone. This stat was the highest for any African artist according to reports provided by Spotify itself.

The most streamed African artist on Apple Music for 2023

Rema was also the highest-ranked African artist on the Apple Music end of the year charts on a global level. The singer's hit song Calm Down remix was ranked at number 12 on the global ranking and this was the highest for any African artist for the year 2023.

It is no overstatement to say he was arguably the most streamed African artist of the year as he also snatched the record of the music video with the highest number of views for a Nigerian artist on YouTube in 2023.
