Veteran Edo musician Monday Igbinidu slams Shallipopi with N200m lawsuit
The newbie might be getting dragged to court following a copyright infringement claim by a veteran Nigerian musician.
Veteran musician Monday Edosomwan Igbinidu has reportedly slammed sensational singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, with a N200 million copyright infringement lawsuit.
The Edo highlife veteran singer had earlier made a video making it clear that there was no agreement between him and Shallipopi for him to have sampled his classic song Ovonramwen on the newbie's first track Obapluto of his debut EP, Planet Pluto,
According to Punch, the letter was sent through Igbinidu's lawyers, Chris Otasowie & Associates, on July 25, where the veteran act demanded to be paid a sum of N200 million for the copyright infringement as well as tender a public apology.
