In the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, music journalist and media personality Motolani Alake dropped a bombshell that sent shockwaves through the Nigerian hip-hop scene.

With fervour in his voice, he boldly proclaimed that AQ, the enigmatic rap sensation, has held the torch for Nigerian hip-hop over the past three years. This bold assertion immediately set the stage for a heated discussion.

Motolani Alake didn't stop there; he didn't mince words when he argued that AQ's lyrical prowess surpasses that of the seasoned veteran, Naeto C. In fact, he went a step further by asserting that AQ deserves to claim a higher spot than Naeto C on his personal list of the most influential Nigerian hip-hop artists.

Meanwhile, co-host Excel Joab had her own perspective on the matter. He pointed out that AQ's cultural impact on the scene can be likened to the vibrant presence of Blaqbonez and the annual cyphers orchestrated by notable alcoholic brands such as Martell.

This conversation hasn't been well-received among hip-hop enthusiasts on X, formerly known as Twitter.
