Korede Bello laments decline in music quality as young artistes dominate industry

Nigerian singer Korede Bello has expressed concerns about the decline in music quality in the industry, attributing it to the rise of young artistes who lack life experiences.

During an appearance on Hip TV's "Trending" episode, hosted by Kim Oprah, Korede Bello stated, "When you start to have young artistes blowing up, the quality of the music starts to reduce because they don't have quality experiences."

Meanwhile, he further explained, "They don't know how to live yet. Young people don't yet know how to live, they just know that they are living. They want to live large, so that's what they're going to sing about."

Additionally, Korede Bello contrasted this with older artistes who have drawn from their life experiences to create meaningful music. "If you listen to an African China, where he's coming from, he has seen things. Timaya, Fela—all have experiences. Their songs are expressions of reality."

While acknowledging the talent of young artists, Korede Bello emphasized, "We should not blame these young artists; you can only give what you have."
