Nigerian singer Joeboy recently suffered a major loss after placing a ₦3 million bet on Real Madrid to defeat Arsenal in their UEFA Champions League clash.

Nigerian music star Joeboy found himself on the losing side of a high-stakes Champions League wager after Arsenal secured a stunning 3-0 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter-final showdown on Tuesday night.

The Alcohol hitmaker had placed a ₦3 million bet in favour of the Spanish giants, confident they would triumph over the Premier League side. Hours before kick-off, Joeboy took to his official X account to share a screenshot of his bet slip with the caption, “Cashing out on Arsenal tears tonight!”

Had Madrid clinched the win at the Emirates Stadium, the singer would have walked away with a whopping ₦10,345,000. However, Arsenal had other plans. Declan Rice scored two sensational free-kicks, followed by a third goal from Mikel Merino, leaving the Gunners in firm control of the tie.

In the aftermath of the unexpected defeat and loss of the bet, a stunned Joeboy returned to X with a simple, one-word post: “Goodnight.”

Arsenal will now aim to seal their spot in the semi-finals as they prepare for the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday. Meanwhile, they are set to face Brentford in a Premier League fixture this weekend.
