Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, has reignited discussions about the country’s economic struggles by supporting fellow artist Davido’s past remarks on the state of the nation.

A few months ago, Davido made headlines in an interview where he described Nigeria’s economy as being in “shambles” and discouraged foreign investors from considering the country. His comments sparked mixed reactions, with some Nigerians criticizing him for his blunt assessment.

Now, Jaywon has taken to social media to echo Davido’s concerns, particularly drawing attention to the economic state of his home region, Kogi. In a series of posts, the singer lamented the worsening situation and questioned those who previously dismissed Davido’s comments.

“A few months ago, when Davido spoke about the state of the country in an interview, some people quickly came together to call him out as if he was lying. Abeg, where are those people today? The reality is clear: Nigerians are their own biggest problem,” Jaywon tweeted.

In another tweet, he criticized social media users who he believes contribute to misinformation and distractions, saying, “97% of FCs are nothing but empty heads. Cuz even things wey no concern dem. Dem go put mouth!!”

His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians weighing in on the debate over the country’s economic state and the role of influential voices in addressing national issues.
