Nigerian artist and songwriter Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, has revealed his upcoming album, Once Upon a Cat, is scheduled for release on February 2, 2024. The album comprises 13 tracks featuring emerging Nigerian talents like Young Duu, Qing Madi, and others. Iyanya emphasized his decision to simultaneously release music videos for all 13 songs on February 2, 2024, expressing his desire to ensure that the younger artists featured in the album have a platform to showcase their talents.

In his post on social media Iyanya said, "Shot 13 videos for a 13 Track Album. I didn’t want to FT all the very Talented young artists and not push out visuals. 2nd Feb we drop 13 Track Album with 13 Videos same day. Get ready for it". Iyanya is demonstrating a serious and focused approach to his career this year, making it clear that he means business and isn't taking any chances. The album cover for Once Upon a Cat displays the names of all the artists collaborating on Iyanya's latest project. Despite facing criticism from some fans and music enthusiasts, he remains steadfast in his choice not to include any established or big-name artists in his new album.

The Nigerian singer maintained his decision, stating that he chose to feature artists whom he believes will become significant names in the future of the Nigerian music scene. Via social media, he said, "Sometimes you wonder how people think. I featured some of the most talented artists you will ever meet in the nearest future on my project and some of you are complaining I didn’t get big names on the project. Music is to me is not about big names is about making good music. I promise you will be happy with your ears after listening to this project. This is a masterpiece project and I can’t wait for 12:am on Friday for you to hear it"

The musical sensation will also be sharing the stage with Davido. The Davido Invasion is slated for January 31st, 2024 in Paris at Accor Arena.
