Inspector General Of Police Reacts To Seun Kuti Slapping A Police Officer

The Inspector General of the Nigerian police force has reacted to the video of Seun Kuti slapping a police officer in Lagos.

The inspector General of Police for the Nigerian Police Force, in an official statement through the force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, according to Channels Television, has ordered the arrest of the afrobeats artist Seun Kuti following the viral video of him slapping an officer of the law.

Seun Kuti took to his social media platform today, Saturday, May 13, 2023, to reveal why he had decided to slap the police officer. The incident had gone viral, and it attracted the reaction of the IGP through a statement.

The statement read:

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.

The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly,

IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book.”
