ID Cabasa set to drop star-studded album this Friday
Veteran Nigerian producer Olumide Ogunade, widely known as ID Cabasa, is gearing up to release his much-awaited album, Unfinished Business, this Friday, December 5, 2025.
The project has already generated major excitement across the music industry, thanks to its impressive lineup and its blend of old and new Afrobeats influences.
ID Cabasa, a foundational figure in Nigerian music and the force behind Coded Tunes, is celebrated for helping launch the careers of Olamide, Reminisce, 9ice, and several other stars. With Unfinished Business, he returns with a body of work that honors his legacy while embracing the current generation of hitmakers.
The 12-track album features some of Afrobeats’ biggest names, including Olamide, Zlatan, Fireboy DML, Bella Shmurda, Joeboy, Darkoo, Pheelz, Boj, and Odumodublvck. The project also revisits iconic Nigerian songs, offering fresh versions of classics like “Photocopy,” reinvented with Vector and 9ice, and Olufunmi, reimagined with Boj and Joeboy. Cabasa says the idea is to reconnect longtime fans with the roots of the sound while giving today’s audience something new and vibrant.
Before becoming a full-time producer, ID Cabasa earned a degree in Economics and briefly worked in banking, but his lasting impact has come from his work behind the boards. Known for blending traditional Nigerian elements with modern rhythms, he remains one of the most influential architects of contemporary Afrobeats.
With its mix of nostalgia and innovation, Unfinished Business, released under Coded Tunes/Ziiki Media, is expected to be one of the standout Afrobeats albums of the year. The project marks yet another milestone in ID Cabasa’s decades-long contribution to shaping the sound of Nigerian music.
