'I was once bigger than Wizkid and Davido' - May D claims
Nigerian singer May D has made a startling claim that he was once on the same level as his colleagues Wizkid and Davido, and was even bigger than the duo at one point.
In a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, May D stated that he, Wizkid, and Davido were the three biggest artistes in Nigeria years ago.
May D compared his hit single Soundtrack to Wizkid's Holla at Your Boy, implying that his song was more popular. This is not the first time May D has made claims about his past fame. He had previously stated that Wizkid wouldn't have been on his level if he hadn't fallen out with his former record label, Square Records.
In another revelation, May D shared a humbling experience with Davido, who had visited his room at P-Square's house when he was running away from his father. May D recalled that Davido was shocked by the modest accommodations and refused to sleep there, saying "May-D is this where you stay? I can't sleep here oh". May D acknowledged that the experience was humbling, stating "If I had a room, it would have been cooler".
