'I don't like being referred to as underrated artist’ – Waje
Nigerian singer Waje actively voiced her opposition to being called an underrated artist.
Aituaje Iruobe popularly known as Waje has cautioned against labeling her as an underrated artist, expressing her discomfort with the term. Waje sat down for an interview on Secrets Behind the Scenes Podcast where she spoke on her transition from music to acting. She also discussed remarkable achievements. and her career.
Despite fans on social media tagging her as such and arguing that her talent and contributions deserve more recognition, Waje clarified that she doesn't appreciate being referred to as underrated. She elaborated on how the term may not carry the positive connotations that some people assume, emphasizing the importance of one's perception of success.

During her interview, she said, "I do not like being addressed as an underrated artist. Words have power. Some people might celebrate it [being called underrated] and make it like, ‘People see who I am and that’s why they said so.’ Your perception of success is between you and your mind”.
