Nigerian music superstar Wizkid is trending on the popular social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) after sharing a series of cryptic posts that have sent fans into a frenzy over his upcoming album.

The Grammy-winning singer took to social media to reflect on his approach to making music, giving fans an insight to how his work process is like and why it takes that much time to release a project.

“U see ima tell u why Wizkid songs last forever. I take my time with this. I don’t make it for now. I make it for even after we’re long gone.”

The post immediately caught the attention of fans, with many interpreting it as a statement about the creative process behind his highly anticipated next album.

Wizkid followed it up with an even more direct update, writing:

“Having so much fun making this next one! I can’t wait to share #album”

The singer then appeared to tease a possible return to the stage or an upcoming visit to his fans, adding:

“And yes I’m finally going to see you soon! Nah fr I promise.”

The posts have reignited excitement around Wizkid’s next full-length project. The singer has previously teased his seventh studio album, with reports in June that he had announced the title as “SEXY.”

The new project would follow Morayo, Wizkid’s 2024 album dedicated to his late mother, and his 2026 collaborative EP REAL, Vol. 1 with Asake.
