Afrobeats sensation Rema has revealed the heartwarming reason behind his early start in the music industry.

In an interview with Capital Xtra London, the young music icon shared that his mother's struggles with poverty and hardship motivated him to pursue a music career.

Rema recounted how his mother's daily struggles to make ends meet, including trekking to work due to lack of transportation costs, spurred him to succeed. He stated, "I was tired of my mum trekking every day; she didn't even have money for transport to use a bus or bike. So I had to take it to the next level ASAP."

Meanwhile, the singer's determination paid off, and as soon as he started making money, he prioritized his mother's comfort. He recalled, "The moment I made money, I got her a car ASAP. We went for dinner, then I gave her that car. A lot of boys would go for their own cars first, but I was still trekking, but I had to get a car for my mum first."

Additionally, Rema credited his mother's prayers and support for his success, saying, "She's a great mum. She's the reason I'm successful. Her prayers. She's really proud of me."
