Fido sparks excitement with cultural-themed teaser for upcoming single

Fast-rising Afrobeats act Fido, known for his breakout hits Awolowo and Joy Is Coming, has stirred major anticipation after releasing a striking visual teaser for his next single, Chickendo.
The short clip, which quickly gained traction on social media, blends modern luxury with vivid Igbo cultural expressions, hinting at a festive, high-energy release.
The teaser opens with bold nighttime visuals, immediately setting a tone of celebration and confidence. Fido appears dressed in full Igbo regalia: a red-and-gold patterned top, layered coral bead necklaces, and the symbolic red cap often associated with chieftaincy. He fans himself with a decorated white hand-fan, creating the image of a man in full command of his success and heritage.
The clip also features a musician playing the ekwe, a traditional slit drum that adds an authentic cultural rhythm beneath the Afrobeats sound. Alongside this, a white Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon sits prominently in the background, reinforcing the themes of wealth and aspiration that run through the teaser.
Throughout the video, bold on-screen lyrics flash across the screen, phrases like “Money on My Mind,” “Igbo Kwenu,” “Where My Money Dey,” and “No Dey Use My Money Play,” making it clear that the song celebrates both achievement and the vibrant spirit of December festivities. A nod to nightlife mogul Obi Cubana further shows the track’s focus on prosperity and celebration.
With the year-end season approaching, Chickendo appears poised to become the next big anthem of Fido. After the emotional resonance of Joy Is Coming, this new single hints at a more celebratory, culturally rooted direction for the artist.
Fans are now awaiting the official release date as Fido positions Chickendo to potentially dominate playlists and December party scenes nationwide.
