Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bahd Guy, has voiced his disappointment over the state of the nation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In a candid interview on Arise TV, Falz expressed concerns about Nigeria’s direction since President Tinubu's administration began in 2023.

Falz, known for his outspokenness on civic and social issues, stated that rather than experiencing growth, the country has witnessed more setbacks in the past year. “It goes without saying that, more than anything, we’ve moved backwards. There’s not much progress that has been recorded,” he said.

Taking a swipe at Tinubu’s popular campaign slogan, “Emilokan”, a Yoruba phrase meaning “It’s my turn”, Falz questioned what the administration has achieved with the opportunity it was given. “I think I remember the campaign slogan being ‘Emilokan.’ And now it just seems like, what were you planning on doing? We are still waiting,” he remarked.

Reflecting on the government’s first year in office, the Bop Daddy crooner added that Nigerians are yet to see meaningful reforms or improvements. “It’s remaining two more years. Maybe there’s still a plan. But as it stands now, first half, we never see anything,” he stated.

Falz has consistently used his platform to speak out against injustice and poor governance, especially during the 2020 EndSARS protests, a reputation he further reinforced with his latest comments.
