The 2023 Billboard Music Awards will livestream rather than follow the traditional television format used in previous years.

The Billboard Music Award is scheduled for November 19, 2023. The performances and award celebrations will take place at different locations across the globe and will be live-streamed.

With the expansion of musical genres, the music industry has undergone a notable transformation. This includes Afrobeat artists selling out concerts, introducing new award show categories for K-Pop and Afrobeat, extensive collaborations between local and international musicians, and various other developments.

The Billboard Music Award has added two new categories for Afrobeat and four new categories for K-pop.

Between 2022 & 2023 there has been an incorporation of the Afrobeats genre into prestigious awards.
