DJ Spinall calls one of his newest tracks his 'best ever'

Nigerian DJ and producer Spinall has described his latest track, Struggles, featuring reggae legend Buju Banton and American R&B star Summer Walker, as the greatest song he has ever created.
The song, which blends Afrobeat, R&B, and authentic reggae, reflects the emotional highs and lows of life, a theme DJ Spinall says makes the track deeply personal.
In a recent interview, Spinall revealed that the collaboration with Buju Banton came about unexpectedly during a trip to Jamaica. What was intended as a vacation quickly turned into a studio session after the team connected with the iconic reggae artist at his home. Spinall shared that he sent Buju Banton several instrumental tracks ahead of time, and when he chose the one that resonated most with him, Buju had independently selected the same instrumental for the recording. “That just told me right there, ‘Okay, we’re locked in,’” Spinall said.
The track has been praised for capturing the authentic spirit of reggae while blending it seamlessly with Afrobeat and R&B influences. DJ Spinall emphasized that Struggles speaks to life’s challenges in a raw and honest way, offering listeners a perspective on resilience and growth that is often overlooked in contemporary music. Serving as a standout from his album ÈKÓ Groove, the song reflects Spinall’s ability to merge diverse genres into a cohesive, globally appealing sound.
