Davido speaks on Burna Boy, Wizkid and his place in the 'Big 3' conversation

Davido recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing "big three" debate, addressing his relationship with Burna Boy and Wizkid while reflecting on his own place in the conversation.
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has stirred conversation following his candid interview on The Breakfast Club, where he discussed his career, upcoming album 5IVE, and his relationship with fellow Nigerian music giants, Wizkid and Burna Boy.
During the interview, the Feel hitmaker was asked about the long-standing debate surrounding Nigeria’s “big three” — himself, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. In response, Davido offered a refreshingly grounded take, stating, “I’m just me.” He explained that unlike the mystery surrounding Wizkid or Burna Boy’s rebellious persona, he simply enjoys being outgoing and having fun.
The DMW boss went on to clarify that he no longer shares a personal relationship with either Wizkid or Burna Boy, though he did in the past. “I don’t have a personal relationship with them. I did at some point in time,” he said.
Davido emphasized that the Afrobeats scene has evolved beyond just the Big Three, noting the rise of new stars like Rema and Ayra Starr. “The culture is so big now. The conversation is bigger than just us. The three of us know that it’s bigger than us,” he added.
His comments have been widely praised by fans for their maturity and self-awareness, as Davido continues to lead conversations not just through music, but with his perspective on the ever-growing global influence of Afrobeats.
