Davido opens up about fatherhood, late son Ifeanyi, and commitment to Chioma

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about his journey through grief, fatherhood, and renewed commitment to his wife, Chioma Rowland Adeleke.
In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the Unavailable crooner spoke emotionally about the loss of his first son, Ifeanyi, who tragically passed away in October 2022 after drowning at their Banana Island residence. Davido described the period as one of the hardest times of his life, crediting his family for helping him through.
Now a proud father of twins—a boy and a girl—Davido revealed that his newborn son with Chioma bears a striking resemblance to the late Ifeanyi, not just in appearance but in behavior. “We've got twins now, and the boy looks exactly like my son that passed. They act the same. Everything he used to do, he does,” he shared.
The Grammy-nominated singer also used the platform to address persistent rumors about infidelity. When asked about cheating allegations, Davido responded with honesty and clarity: “I don’t want trouble. I’ve decided not to cheat on my wife anymore.”
On the subject of polygamy, Davido stated firmly that it’s not a lifestyle he envisions for himself. Reflecting on the complications often associated with polygamous homes, especially in Nigeria, he noted that despite outward happiness, such family structures frequently experience internal issues.
Despite a co-host suggesting he might consider taking a second wife in the future, Davido stood his ground. “I don't want trouble,” he repeated with a smile.
Davido’s openness and emotional growth have earned him praise from fans, many of whom continue to admire his resilience and devotion to his family.
