Nigerian singer, CKay has broken yet another record as he becomes the first African artist to make a debut on the Billboard Independent Album Charts.

The Billboard Independent Album Charts is a ranking of the highest selling independent albums in the United States. The chart focuses on artists who are not signed to any major label, like CKay. The chart rankings are compiled weekly and the CKay the First EP has debuted on the rankings for the week ending October 9th.
The CKay the First EP was released back in 2019 and recent happenings have pushed its stock to debut on the Billboard Independent Album Charts among other charts. Just recently, the album debuted at no. 4 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
This is all down to the rapid growth of the Love Nwatiti song on TikTok which has gone global now.
