Burna Boy reacts to Summer Jam disrespect allegations
Afrobeat star Burna Boy has addressed allegations of disrespecting legendary reggae band Steel Pulse at the recent Summer Jam Festival in Germany.
David Hinds, guitarist for Steel Pulse, accused Burna Boy's security team of attempting to take over their dressing room to accommodate the singer's entourage. He also claims a barricade was put together to separate the two artists' areas.
In response to the online controversy, Burna Boy offered a brief statement. "I don't even know what they look like," he said, implying a lack of familiarity with Steel Pulse. He continued, "I don't disrespect people. If I disrespect you, it's because you did something..."
Burna Boy's comments haven't quelled the debate. But fans see his remarks as a defense, implying the situation may not be as it seems.
As of today, neither the Summer Jam Festival organizers nor Steel Pulse have responded to Burna Boy's comments.
