Burna Boy reacts as Davido, Olamide and other receive first Grammy Award nomination

Following the announcement of his nominations for the Grammy Awards by the Recording Academy, Burna Boy in a post shared his thoughts on his and the nominations of other African artists.

The singer in his post thanked the Recording Academy once again for recognizing his efforts as an artist and he also went on to congratulate other artists such as Davido, Olamide, Asake, Ayra Starr and Tyla who received their nomination for the first time.

His post on the social media platform X read, "Once more, my deepest gratitude to the Grammy academy for this incredible honor. A HUGE congrats to the talented African artists who were nominated alongside me. The true win lies in sharing these moments with you all at my shows and expressing it through my music. 🙏🎶 @recordingacad #ITOLDTHEM   As always Love,Damini."

Burna Boy received a total of four Grammy Award nominations. ahead of the ceremony which is scheduled to be held in February, 2024.

He received a nomination in the newly introduced, Best African Music Performance with his hit song City Boys, Sitting On Top of the World’ which featured American rapper 21 Savage was also nominated in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, ‘I Told Them’ received a nomination in the Best Global Music Album category, and ‘Alone’ also in the Best Global Music Performance.
