Burna Boy awarded, reacts to 2 billion UK streams plaque
Burna Boy was presented with a BRIT Award at his marking of the 5th anniversary of his album African Giant.
The award recognizes his staggering achievement of surpassing 2 billion streams in the UK. This recognition comes on the heels of a previous incident where Burna Boy expressed dissatisfaction upon receiving a plaque for 1 billion UK streams. At the time, the artist claimed that he had surpasses that and wondered why its just coming.
The video of this new presentation shows him surrounded by fellow Afrobeats stars Rema and Odumodublvck. While accepting the award, Burna Boy states, "you know we have to fight for our right.". This is alluding to his prior discontent. But it is a significant shift as Burna Boy is visibly happy for the recognition.
