Nigerian singer Asake has commenced his highly anticipated Lungu Boy tour with a sold-out show at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC.
The concert took place on Friday, August 16, 2024. It featured performances of his hit singles and tracks from his recently released third album Lungu Boy.
The Lungu Boy tour is set to cover six major US cities, with Asake headlining prominent venues. These venues include the Toyota Centre in Houston, State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.

It garnered 18.9 million streams in its opening week, surpassing Davido's Timeless previous record of 14.4 million streams. Additionally, Lungu Boy leads the list of biggest opening weeks on Spotify Nigeria. So, this is followed by albums from top artists like Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
Also, the album broke the record for the biggest opening day global streams for a Nigerian album on Spotify, with 9.2 million streams. Furthermore, the second track MMS set a new record on Spotify Nigeria. This is with 870,577 streams on its first day of release, surpassing Wizkid's IDK feat Zlatan.
