Ghanaian singer, Amaarae has seen her song, Sad Girls Luv Money beat CKay's global smash hit, Love Nwantiti to the top spot on the US Shazam chart.
Amaarae has seen her song, Sad Girls Luv Money head to the top of the US Shazam chart, beating CKay's Love Nwantiti in the process. This was revealed on Saturday, the 6th of November 2021.
Nigerian afrobeats star Chukwuka Ekweani, popularly known as CKay, and Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, were the top two artists boasting the most shazamed songs in the United States around last month.
It's no surprise that buzzing Nigerian singer CKay sat comfortably in the first position on the list as his Love Nwantiti remix, which features Axel and DJ Yo, was the most shazamed song in the world. Second on the list at the time was Afrobeats poster-boy Wizkid's Essence, which featured Nigerian songstress Tems.

Currently, Amaarae and her Nigerian counterpart, CKay hold the top two spots on the US Shazam chart, while Wizkid's Essence has dropped all the way down to the 15th spot. CKay also has three versions of his Love Nwantiti song in the top 50 of the US Shazam charts.
