AFCON 2023: Alex Iwobi returns to social media with freestyle rap video

SHARE

After a period of silence following the abuse from the AFCON finals, Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi has returned to social media with a video post on his Instagram account.

The video shows highlights of his football career and personal life, with a rap song playing in the background. The caption simply says "Lately…"

Fans think the rap, which might be written by Iwobi himself, talks about his life story. The words say things like overcoming difficulties, believing in himself, and succeeding even when people doubted him.

The rap starts with, "Never thought I'd make it, but now people know me," showing how he's become famous. Later, he says things like, "Everything was worth it, now I'm known worldwide," celebrating his achievements. He also seems to be talking to people who didn't believe in him, saying, "They said I wasn't good enough."

Although the full meaning of the video is unclear, it has gotten a lot of people on Instagram talking about it. It's not clear if it's meant to motivate others, respond to criticism, or just share his thoughts. But one thing is for sure - Alex Iwobi is back online and making his voice heard again.
