Nigerian music sensation Adekunle Gold has warmed hearts across the country by rewarding several first-class graduates with N250,000 each.

The generous gesture began on July 16, 2025 when the singer took to X (formerly Twitter), encouraging high-achieving graduates to share their transcripts. "If you graduated with First class, post your transcripts," he wrote, sparking a flurry of responses from users eager to showcase their academic achievements.

Adekunle Gold reviewed the submissions and selected several first-class graduates to receive the monetary reward. Soon after, screenshots of bank alerts and heartfelt thank-you messages began flooding social media, with many describing the act as life-changing.

One of the recipients, @Abikelere, who graduated over a decade ago, shared her joy online:
“@adekunleGOLD... Baba God has picked up my call ooo using you sir... no amount of thank you can express my gratitude to you oo. At last, I got an amount tagged to my HND after 12 years of graduation. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu @adekunleGOLD.”

Another user, @Hakeem_Onitolo, called the singer a “BIG FISH” and prayed for more blessings upon him.

Others like @itschargiee and @TheGigs0x revealed they had little or no money in their accounts before receiving the cash gift, expressing their shock and appreciation: “I literally had 1700. Thank you @adekunleGOLD,” one wrote. “Feels like a dream. I cannot put it in words!!! I had NO in my account,” another added.

In a humorous follow-up post, Adekunle Gold addressed students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), writing: “OAU Students, don’t bother,” alongside a photo of Rick Ross’s God Forgives, I Don’t album cover.

His message referred to a painful memory from 2015, when he performed at OAU with limited songs, mostly repeating his hit track Sade due to technical difficulties. The performance reportedly ended badly as students booed him, stormed his hotel, and allegedly seized part of his performance fee.

Despite that sour past, the singer’s latest act of kindness has earned him widespread praise, highlighting his commitment to recognizing and supporting academic excellence in Nigeria.
