9ice honoured with a chieftaincy title in Ogun State

Nigerian singer 9ice, also known as Abolore Adigun, has received a chieftaincy title in Ogun State.

The celebrated music star eagerly shared the news with his fans through a post on his Instagram page.
The conferred title, "Amuludun of Ijofin Kingdom," translates to the "Chief Entertainer of Ijofin Kingdom." Expressing gratitude, 9ice extended thanks to the king of the Ijofin Kingdom for the honour and pledged continued support for Nigeria.

In his statement on social media, 9ice wrote, “ARE AMULUDUN IJOFIN KINGDOM IPOKIA YEWA. THANKS TO HRM OBA MORUF AWODE AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY OF GUSANU AND THE PEOPLE OF IJOFIN KINGDOM, YEWA OGUN STATE AND EVERYONE.”


Known for his adept use of the Yoruba language in his music, characterized by proverbial lyrics and a unique delivery style, 9ice has been a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene. His accolades include the prestigious Best Hip Hop Artist award at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2008.

Going beyond the realm of entertainment, 9ice has ventured into politics, showcasing his diverse talents. He contested the office of the House of Representatives and assumed a political appointment as a Special Adviser to the late Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, in 2015. This multifaceted journey underscores 9ice's commitment to making impactful contributions both in and beyond the entertainment industry.
