2Baba clears the air on viral rumours
Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has shut down viral reports suggesting he was arrested in London after an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The false claims, first spread by controversial online personality Tosin Silverdam, alleged that 2Baba’s failure to appear at his UK tour on Thursday, October 2, 2025, was because he had been detained. The speculation intensified online, with some claiming the supposed arrest was linked to a domestic dispute with his new wife.
In response to rumours that he was arrested in London, 2Baba appeared in a video alongside Natasha Osawaru and close friends to set the record straight. Laughing off the reports, one of his associates could even be heard teasing him about being “alleged.”
The singer explained that his absence was due to a medical emergency, not a clash or arrest. “First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough. To the organizers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen. And please, if una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This allegedly, I don tire,” he said.
His clarification has since reassured fans, who expressed relief at seeing him healthy and in good spirits alongside Natasha. The singer also promised that plans would be made to compensate fans for the canceled show.
