The electoral body in Nigeria INEC has confirmed a new deadline for PVC collection in the country ahead of the 2023 general elections.
In a recent development, the Nigerian electoral commission INEC has confirmed a new date as the deadline for PVC collection in Nigeria in plans for the 2023 general elections in the country.
The initial deadline, which had been slated for Saturday, the 22nd of January 2023, was extended to the 29th of January 2023 after a meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
An official statement by the INEC National Commissioner Festus Okoyewas released to confirm this change by the electoral commission, and the statement read:
The Commission is determined to ensure that registered voters have ample opportunity to collect their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming election. For this reason, the timeframe for the collection of PVCs is extended by eight days, Instead of ending on Sunday 22nd January 2023, the collection of PVCs will continue until Sunday 29th January 2023. At the moment, the period of collection is 9.00 am – 3.00 pm daily (including Saturdays and Sundays).
