8. Teni

Of all the artists on #TheList2018, the one with the most beautiful story has to be Teni. Watching this talented songstress blossom over the past year has been one of my personal highlights. Normally, you'd expect an artist with such a famous sister like Niniola to come out bearing the tag "Niniola's sister". But nah... Teni did her own thing. She made a name for herself from scratch and, in a little over a year, is now one of the hottest musicians in the whole of Nigeria.

It all started with Fargin.

Well, actually, No. It all started with those amazing social media covers of popular singles. Oh, and those awesome freestyles. Teni stole our hearts gradually and steadily.

Today, the singer has shrugged off adversity and debunked the stereotypical "image" of a female pop star by being herself and delivering amazing music in the process. I pray we finally get a project from Teni in 2019!

And how about the "Next Rated" award? She's definitely 1 of 2 favorites. I'd bet my money on her, if I were you.
