Azam FC finally confirms the signing of Yeison Fuentes
One of the leading soccer teams in Tanzania, Azam FC has finally confirmed the signing of Yeison Fuentes from Columbia.
Azam FC made it official on Saturday, January 13, 2024, confirming the signing of Colombian player Yeison Fuentes. Formerly with Leonel FC, Fuentes has inked a three-year contract with Azam FC, set to play a crucial role as a central defender for the team based in Chamazi, Dar Es Salaam.

In his press conference, Fuentes revealed the reason behind his decision to join Azam FC. He stated, "I'm thrilled for the opportunity I've been given. Excitement fills me as I step into this new chapter and prepare to hit the ground running in practice. Conversations with Navarro assured me that Azam FC is an excellent place. I'm here to achieve great feats and contribute to the team's success by playing top-notch football.”
At just 21 years old, Fuentes showcased a remarkable performance last year, featuring in 36 matches and netting an impressive total of 10 goals—all from open play, with none coming from penalty kicks.
