Kenyan singer, Nviiri The Storyteller has finally released his debut EP, "Kitenge".

The singer who is signed under Sauti Sol's record label Sol Generation has made a name for himself since his first hit, Pombe Sigara in 2019.

Kitenge is a six-track EP featuring fellow Kenyan artists; Sanaipei Tande, Khaligraph Jones, Bensoul, and Sauti Sol.

Kitenge EP is a complete body of work that tells a perfect love story gone sour with each track feeding from the previous one. The first track which is Baridi featuring the soulful Sanaipei is a slightly upbeat song sang from the perspective of two lovers who are at a honeymoon period of the relationship.

Mae Wendi which is the second track, is a slow jam where Nviiri addresses how lucky he feels to be with a person who completes him.

The third song, Kitenge addresses the challenges he has faced in his journey of love, singing that they have become like the couples who wear matching kitenge’s to signify the permanency of their love.

Niko Sawa which features Bien talks about how cheating allegations led to fights which led to separation and now he wishes that she would come back so that they can mend their relationship.

This is followed by Bembeleza, a jam about the aftermath of a broken relationship where Nviiri is begging the person he was with to come back so that they can fix the relationship.

The last track on the EP is Birthday Song featuring Sauti Sol, Bensoul, and Khaligraph Jones is the last jam on the EP. The jam whose visuals dropped a few days ago is about letting go of all the bad vibes and celebrating your birthday.

The EP really shines a light on Nviiri’s excellent song writing skills. It conveys his ability to write captivating stories which references back to his stage name, The storyteller.  Apart from the lyricism, he also delivers sweeping vocals and lots of Eastern grooves.

Kitenge is now available for streaming and downloads across streaming platforms.
