6. Olamide

2018 was all about the music for Olamide. He started the year with the smash hit, "Science Student", a song which sparked major controversy due to its lyrics and how it seemingly promoted drug abuse, something Olamide firmly denied.

Olamide continued the streak with hits like "Kana" (ft. Wizkid), Motigbana", as well as mega collaborations with Timaya (Bam Bam), Phyno (Onyeoma) and Naira Marley (Issa Goal).

For me, Olamide's greatest highlight of the year has to be the reinvention of YBNL.

Olamide signed 5 acts in total this year alone, the biggest mass signing in the industry. New members of the YBNL MaFia family include Limerick, Lyta, Picazo, Yomi Blaze & Fireboy DML. Together, they released the YBNL MaFia Family album earlier this month, and they all appeared in Olamide's "Poverty Die" video, another hit in the making.

Could the YBNL MaFia Family - led by Baddo himself - become the new force to reckon with? We'll find out in 2019 and beyond.
