10 Nigerian Songs I Can't Stop Listening To

Olawale – Demo (prod. Spellz)

Online Art

Project Fame Season 6 winner - Olawale, is a highly talented individual. Everyone that saw his energetic performances during the competition will attest to the fact that he is truly gifted. Olawale has alot deposited inside of him, and with consistency in churning out songs, he will definitely make a statement in the music industry in the not-to-distant future.

Splash ft. Byno – NA GOD

Splash

Splash - the talented and indigenous/versatile rapper, is another artiste with so much potential. She delivers Igbo rap with the illest swag ever, after Phyno, that is. Splash is dope.

Ola Dips – Life, Body And Soul

Ola dips

I introduce to you, - Ola Dips (a.k.a Omo Iya Aje), as he is popularly known. Ola dips is likely the next big thing bubbling underground after the late Dagrin. His yoruba rap is somewhat different, interestingly refreshing, and  absolutely unique from what you typically here out there nowadays. Keep an eye out for this dude!

Humblesmith ft. Phyno – Osinachi (prod. Mixta Dimz)

Osinachi Artwork

Humblesmith has perfected the act of highlife music with the infusion of the new-school Afro beat genre. He has being pretty consistent at it and the world deserves to hear what he has to offer. He is a diamond in the dirt at the moment, but don't ever underestimate his true potential.

Vino Bellz – Nyem Ife (prod. Masterkraft)

VINOBELLZ ART(1)

Vino Bellz is relatively new in the industry at the moment but when I heard this song, apart from the outstanding beat cooked up super-producer Masterkraft, I sensed passion in her vocals. I am pretty sure she will have no problem churning out dance tunes like this that will surely make statements in the future.

Funny enough, I listen to songs of all except 3 of these artistes (i.e Vino Bellz, Humblesmith & Ola dips). At least I'm aware of them now.

i have noticed this Nigerian music industry is just filled with fake hype and one genre of tiring sound that we dont know when it will fizzle off. I heard this song (Christian Lobatan) by an artiste named Dolondolo ft Orezi, where he was talking a shoe (christian louboutin) plus the amazing banging beat, great lyrical content.I think artistes who are working hard should be reckoned with. Please someone should prove me wrong, listen and tell me if its got no potential.. I pity our new generation music..

EGO, thanks for this list. I'm hearing some of these for the first time. NJO should do more like this, since it's almost impossible for us readers to keep up with and hear everything on our own. This is very much appreciated.

Excellent post E.G.O, these are proper songs with talented folks who are honing their crafts on the type of music that suites their vocals.
I've been blown away by Ginie and Johnny Drille. I want to also use this opportunity to hail the producers and others behind the scenes for delivering such lovely jams.
