Some say hip-hop in Nigeria is dead. This article wasn’t written to discuss the mortality of hip-hop in Nigeria.

Hip-hop, compared to other genres in Nigeria, might not be enjoying a lot of attention and support but we must admit that our rappers have given us interesting projects in recent times.

We have compiled a list of mind-blowing hip-hop albums since 2018 up until now.

Bad Boy Blaq - Blaqbonez

Bad Boy Blaq

Released under 100 Crowns, Bad Boy Blaq is a standard hip-hop album. It features acts like Oxlade, Terry Apala, Loose Kaynon. It showed Blaq's lyrical prowess, his ability to weave words and make impressive rhymes.

Moral Instruction - Falz

Moral Instruction

Falz took his artistry to another level when he released his fourth studio album Moral Instruction. The Nigerian rapper, who is known for his comic style of rapping, sampled musical recordings from Fela. Falz addresses urgent societal issues plaguing Nigeria on the project.

TAP - Ladipoe

Mavin rapper, Ladipoe dropped his album TAP in 2018 to critical acclaim. The rapper had gained a reputation from killing features and turning up on rap cypher as well as his affiliation with Show Dem Camp. He tells beautiful stories while maintaining a steady flow on juicy beats.

Crown - Loose Kaynon feat. A-Q

Loose Kaynon and A-Q's Crown was one of the three albums released by LAMB last year. The two emcees pass the baton to each other as they murder every track with impressive wordplay and heavy bars. The album features Blaqbonez, Ckay, Debbie Romeo, and more.

Clone Wars IV - Show Dem Camp

Music duo Show Dem Camp which consists TEC and Ghost have been consistent with the release of their Clone Wars series. The fourth one in the series These Buhari Times reflect on the current situation being faced by Nigerians as SDC show their expertise in conscious music.

Yung Denzl - M.I Abaga

Yung Denzl

M.I still takes out time to show rappers how the game is being played. He released his fourth studio album A Study On Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl which proves why he's the boss. He narrates about how he's aiming to reach higher love of self and understanding that success is a journey.

Alternate Ending - Boogey and Paybac

Known as The Lost And Found, Boogey and Paybac released their second joint project Alternate Ending under the moniker. The album will leave you breathless as the two rappers do justice to beguiling instrumentals from Sizzle Pro, Charlie Xtreme, and Black Intelligence. From the first track down to last, there's no underwhelming moment.
