Afropop and AfroRnB artist AkayCentric made a powerful appearance on the debut episode of LiveINRoom—a raw and unfiltered new podcast series hosted by Bay Area rapper SuNorth. Known for spotlighting artists who are deeply connected to their message, LiveINRoom kicked off with a blend of heartfelt conversation and a live performance that set the tone for the series.

AKAYCentric delivered a soulful cover of “No.1 Fan” by Canton Jones, bringing emotion and depth into the intimate room where music meets meaning. The performance flowed naturally into a vulnerable conversation about his music journey, creative process, and why authenticity remains his foundation as an artist.

Your authenticity is your power,” AkayCentric shared during the sit-down. “That’s something no one can take away from you.

He also spoke about the importance of patience when creating music. “I don’t create to compete—I create to connect. Once a song is released, it lives forever. So I take my time and make sure every release matters.”

When asked what song he wished he had written, he pointed to “Essence” by Tems and Wizkid, praising its blend of soul, originality, and cultural resonance.

Staying Authentic as an Artist w/ Akaycentric

As AkayCentric prepares to release a new single later this year, his focus remains clear—creating timeless music with depth, intention, and heart.

LiveINRoom isn’t just a platform—it’s a space where real conversations unfold, and Akaycentric’s episode made sure it started with truth.
