Here are the categories with the highest number of submissions ahead of the 2027 Grammy Awards scheduled for February.

The race for the 2027 Grammy Awards is beginning to take shape, with new figures revealing the categories attracting the highest number of submissions ahead of the prestigious music ceremony.

Song of the Year leads the list with 923 submissions, followed by Record of the Year with 779 entries and Album of the Year with 683 submissions.

Best Music Video ranks fourth with 645 submissions, while Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, follows closely with 531 entries. Best Global Music Performance completes the top six with 526 submissions.

The figures highlight the level of competition across some of the Grammy Awards' most prominent categories, particularly the general field awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in songwriting, recording and album production.

Best Global Music Performance's position among the categories with the highest number of submissions also draws attention to the growing pool of entries competing in a category that features music from different regions and cultures around the world.

However, submission figures do not determine an artist's chances of securing a nomination or winning an award. The final nominees will emerge through the Recording Academy's voting process.
