Atlético Madrid have delivered a fresh and emphatic update on Julián Álvarez’s future, making it clear that they have no intention of allowing the Argentine striker to join Barcelona this summer.

The latest development comes after Barcelona president Joan Laporta publicly reiterated his club’s interest in signing Álvarez and expressed hope that Atlético would accept their offer. However, Atlético have responded with a firm message, insisting that a move to the Catalan giants is completely off the table.

According to reports, the Madrid club stated:

There is a 0% chance of selling Julián Álvarez to Barça.” tlético also accused Barcelona of spreading “lies and half-truths” and argued that the situation is about “dignity, not money.”

The Spanish club reportedly sees itself as the victim of the ongoing saga and believes its reputation and finances have been damaged by how the transfer situation has developed. Atlético have already taken their complaints to FIFA and the Spanish Football Federation.

Despite Atlético's strong position, Álvarez’s future remains uncertain.

The 26-year-old has expressed his desire to leave and has reportedly made Barcelona his preferred destination, while Arsenal continue to monitor the situation as the transfer window approaches its September 1 deadline.

Álvarez was also absent from Atlético training on Wednesday due to an illness, adding further attention to an increasingly tense situation.
