Serie A giants AC Milan have officially appointed Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, marking a new chapter for the club after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign.

The 41-year-old manager replaces Massimiliano Allegri and has signed a deal believed to run until 2028, with an option for an additional year. AC Milan confirmed the signing of Amorim on its official X account on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

The Portuguese arrived in Milan after a poor spell at Manchester United, which led to his dismissal at Old Trafford during the 2025/26 season.

However, his reputation remains strong thanks to his success with Sporting CP, where he secured multiple league titles. Amorim's achievements in Portugal were the reason he was appointed to manage Manchester United.

The hierarbelievesMilan's leadership believe his modern, high-pressure style and tactical adaptability can help restore the club to domestic and European prominence. The Rossoneri hope his arrival will spark a revival after missing out on the UEFA Champions League for a second consecutive season.

Amorim will also aim to replicate the success he enjoyed while in charge of Sporting CP.
