Liam Rosenior gives update on Joao Pedro's injury

Liam Rosenior has offered a measured but encouraging update on João Pedro’s fitness, easing concerns after the forward’s recent absence.

The Brazilian attacker was left out of the squad for the clash with Manchester United due to a thigh issue, raising questions about how serious the setback might be at a crucial stage of the season. Liam Rosenior clarified that he will have to make a late decision on Pedro ahead of the game against Brighton.

The decision to leave him out was largely precautionary, with the coaching staff unwilling to risk aggravating the problem. Pedro’s importance in attack, the call underlined a longer-term view rather than short-term urgency.

There has since been positive progress, with João Pedro returning to training and responding well to treatment. However, Rosenior stressed that the player is still being carefully monitored, and no final decision has been made regarding his immediate availability.

He said,

“Joao will be a late call. we will make a decision tomorrow morning."

That leaves Pedro as a doubt heading into the upcoming fixture against Brighton, with the medical team set to make a final assessment closer to kickoff. The cautious approach reflects both the nature of muscle injuries and the importance of avoiding any recurrence, particularly during a demanding run of games.
