Rasheedat Ajibade blasts NFF over shoddy preparations for WAFCON

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has openly blasted the Nigeria Football Federation over its lack of proper planning as the team prepares for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

She described the preparation as poor and disorganised for the upcoming event which will be hosted in Morocco. Her reaction didn’t come in isolation. Multiple reports indicate that several players were left in uncertainty during a crucial FIFA international window, which is typically reserved for structured national team activities such as training camps and friendly matches.

What happened between Rasheedat Ajibade and NFF?

The Super Falcons captain voiced her frustration on social media, accusing the NFF of failing to properly organise key aspects of the team’s build-up. According to reports, players were not officially informed about the venue of the camp.

What did Rasheedat Ajibade say?

“We are not just preparing… we are also fighting for World Cup qualification, so why are we not preparing with the seriousness and intensity this demands?”

She also shared evidence showing she received only informal communication about camp opening, highlighting what she sees as a lack of professionalism and structure.

Nigerians will hope the Super Eagles will book an automatic qualification to WAFCON which will also see them book an automatic qualification to the Women's World Cup
