In celebration of Spotify's 5th anniversary in Nigeria, the music platform has revealed the most-streamed song of all time in the country.

The landscape of digital music consumption in Nigeria has reached a fever pitch as Spotify data reveals the most-streamed songs of all time in the country since the music platform began its service in the country five years ago. Topping the charts is none other than "Mr Money" himself, Asake, whose 2023 hit "Remember" has officially solidified its place as the most-streamed song in Spotify Nigeria history.

The milestone arrives as the Nigerian music industry experienced a significant surge in local streaming, with domestic consumption increasing by nearly 300% over the past two years. Asake’s dominance is undisputed, occupying four of the top ten spots, a feat that highlights his tight grip on the "Street-Pop" and "Afro-Fusion" genres.

While "Remember" holds the crown, the top five is a mix of viral sensations and heavyweight collaborations. "Dealer" by breakout star Ayo Maff featuring Fireboy DML follows closely at number two, proving the power of cross-generational synergy.

Notably, Wizkid continues to flex his streaming muscles. His high-energy track "Kese (Dance)" sits at number four, while his recent collaboration with Asake, "MMS," remains a fan favourite at number nine. Emerging artists are also making their mark; Fido has managed to secure two spots in the top ten with "Awolowo" and "Joy is Coming," signalling a shift in listener preferences toward soulful, relatable storytelling.
