Adekunle Gold previews new track, hints at possible Stormzy collaboration
Nigerian Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold, popularly known as AG Baby, has teased fans with a sneak peek of an unreleased song titled I Go Wiser On My Own, revealing plans for a potential collaboration with UK grime sensation Stormzy.
During a recent interview on Capital Xtra, Adekunle Gold played a raw snippet of the track, describing it as a “gem” that is yet to be completed. The song features his signature melodic vocals, reflective lyrics, and a seamless blend of soulful introspection with African rhythms. Some lines, delivered in both English and Nigerian Pidgin, include: “I move with the mind of a soldier” and “Don’t wear my heart on my sleeve, I wear it on a white tee.”
The singer expressed his hope that Stormzy would join him on the finished record, emphasizing the British rapper’s lyrical prowess as essential to the track’s impact. “When I wrote it, I’m like, I need somebody that can talk. And Stormzy, of course. Prayers, hopefully we can get that done,” he said.
The preview has already sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly anticipating the official release of the track and the possibility of seeing two global music forces unite on one record.
